Toshiba hddr250e03x 250gb usb 2.0 portable external hard drive
Recently we purchase a new Toshiba external hard drive to use as a backup storage medium, so far is has proven to be easy to operate, hassle free, simple and a easy solution to our backup needs. Here is my review of this little gem.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS:
The Toshiba 250HD is very attractive, thin, and stylish.
OUT OF THE BOX:
The blister pack was a total pain to remove. I guess they wanted to make sure nobody stole it during shipping. LOL.
INSTALLATION:
Very smooth, did not know what to expect. I thought it had a disk or something, but much to my surprise, the unit did not have and installation disk. I did have a pet peeve here, the USB cable was rather short, luckily I had a spare USB extension, but, I am not sure what Toshiba was thinking when they put this cable on the unit.
Since I could not find a disk, I just plugged in, and it played. It installed easily, and in no time I was backing up my files. The speed was less than optimum; it took a couple of hours to back up the files.
PROS:
Small, sleek unit, easy to use, and easy to move data to and from. Great price.
CONS:
That cable needs to go.
Overall, I would recommend this unit for anyone looking to backup their files with little cost and effort.
